Following a 74-64 loss to Sierra Canyon Jan. 25, the boys’ varsity basketball team’s cold streak continued against Crespi Wednesday, as the Wolverines fell to the Celts 69-52 for their fifth straight defeat.
The Wolverines swapped blows with the Celts throughout most of Wednesday night’s game, even taking a one-point lead heading into the fourth, but could not hang on as they would be outscored 26-8 in the final period of play.
The team’s last victory came in a 64-63 win over St. Francis Jan. 13. Four of the Wolverines’ losses during their five-game losing skid have been by a difference of ten or more points.
Now 9-12 on the season and 2-5 in league play, the Wolverines will aim to snap their losing streak and earn head coach Greg Hilliard’s 600th win at Harvard-Westlake against Notre Dame Jan. 31.
