Sarah Parmet ’25 released a debut single titled “Player” on all music streaming platforms Oct. 16. Parmet wrote and produced the song, and collaborated with her brother James Parmet ’27 for instrumentals and Sophia Choi ’25 for vocals.
Parmet said the main theme of the song is about the connotations of the word “player.”
“[The song] is a satirical take on when someone gets called a player,” Parmet said. “I ran with that context [and] I wrote it about this person who is a player, so the verses are describing what she is and who she is.”
Parmet promoted the song on her social media prior to the release. She said she wanted to draw people in through the album cover.
“I had a friend of mine design the album cover because I think [art is]definitely a source of intrigue,” Parmet said. “I took inspiration from how K-pop artists promote their releases.”
Talia Foonberg ’25 said she has enjoyed listening to the song since its initial release.
“I think the song is amazing and [Parmet] is really talented,” Foonberg said. “I hope that she makes more music in the future.”
