The Wolverines defeated the Los Osos Grizzlies 67-37 in both team’s opening games at the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in Palm Springs.
Harvard-Westlake dominated the game wire-to-wire, behind Ali Iken ’17 who had 13 first quarter points and 20 total. During the first period, the Wolverines outscored the Grizzlies 23-6.
In the second quarter, the Wolverines were aided by Cassius Stanley’s nine points.
The second half was again controlled by the Wolverines, who ended up winning their sixth straight game.
Iken finished with 20 points, Stanley ended the night with 19 and Carter Begel ’17 and Wolfgang Novogratz ’16 each added 10.
Harvard-Westlake moves to 9-1 overall, with their only loss thus far coming to the Viewpoint Patriots in the finals of the Calabasas Tournament in late Nov. The Wolverines will play their second game of the tournament Mon. Dec. 28 against Indio at Indio High School at 7 p.m.
