The varsity girls’ tennis squad defeated Flintridge Sacred Heart 17-1 in its final season match, winning the Mission League. This was the second matchup of the season against Flintridge Sacred Heart, with the Wolverines sweeping FSHA in their previous meeting. The girls ended the regular season with a league record of 7-1.
Having won the league title, the squad now looks forward to its new CIF journey. The squad has reached the finals both of the past two years, but has fallen to Peninsula and Campbell Hall, respectively. Team members have expressed that they feel ready for the upcoming challenges.
“Even though we had that loss against Notre Dame we still have a lot of confidence going into CIFs and I think we have a pretty solid lineup,” Lara Mikhail ’18 said. “We already know we’re going to encounter some tough teams after the first round, but we’re still going to go into CIFs with confidence.”
