Five students won Scholastic Writing Awards in categories ranging from poetry to short stories. Ali Pechman â08, Melissa Saphier â08, Becca Title â08 and Esther Zuckerman â08 won regional awards. Anderson Alden â09 won a national silver award for his collection of poems. Saphier and Title each wrote a collection of poems and won regional gold awards. Zuckerman won a regional gold award for her short story. Pechman also won a regional gold award for two pieces of journalism previously published in the Chronicle.
