The boys’ water polo team defeated Crespi Carmelite High School 26-3 in a league game on Friday securing a 2-0 overall and league record.
Players said that Friday’s game was beneficial in providing the team with game experience.
“The highlight of the game was giving everyone on the team a chance to play and apply the skills we have been working on in practice,” attacker Shay Gillearn ’21 said.
After last week’s 21-1 win against St. Francis High School, players said that there are always techniques and strategies that can be learned and strengthened.
“One thing we learned from the game was that no matter who we are playing there is always something we can improve upon,” center defender Nico Tierney ’20 said. “One thing we had worked on during the game was staying in the moment and not getting lazy in less stressful situation.”
The Wolverines play Palos Verdes High School on Sept. 13 in a non-league game.
