The Water Polo feeds off of it’s early-season success, moving to a 6-0 record with it’s 15-6 win against Laguna Beach Highschool Sept 9.

The squad dropped one point in the first half, moving to an early 10-1 lead. Despite a Laguna Beach comeback, winning the third quarter 3-2, the Wolverines took the fourth 3-2. Goalie Baxter Chelsom said the team’s strong start was crucial for their victory.

“We came out very aggressive in the first half,” Chelsom said. “We knocked the team back on their heels right off the bat and that definitely set the tone for the rest of the game.”

Christopher Arakelian ‘23 said he has his sights set high in the upcoming South Coast Tournament Sept 16-18.

Although this was a solid win, it is nothing near what we have our sights for,” Arakelian.  “There’s a ton we need to improve on and address in the following week of training in preparation for the South Coast Tournament.”
