Water Polo wins season opener

The boys’ water polo team started their season with a 21-4 victory over Murrieta Valley High School.

Ben Hallock ’16 scored  six goals and Luke Henriksson ’17 scored three goals in the first half to contribute to the Wolverines’ 15-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Duncan Froomer ’16 and Felix Brozyna-Vilim ‘17 scored to end the game at 21-4.

“It was the start of the season, so it was a good test to go against one of the top programs in Southern California,” Head Coach Brian Flacks ’06 said. “It was a good win and we clearly have lots to work on, so we’re excited to finally get the season going.”

The team will play in a tournament in Santa Barbara on Fri. Sept. 11 and Sat. Sept. 12.

“Winning CIF would be great, but really we want to raise the standards and expectations of this program and see how far we can go,” Flacks said.
