Upper school campus to be closed for second day

The school announced in an all-school email Sept. 5 that in-person classes at the upper school would be cancelled Wednesday Sept. 6 due to the water leak.

The announcement marks the second consecutive day in-person classes were cancelled in order to address the leak.

Head of Upper School Beth Slattery said maintenance crews at the school have been working to fix the issue and would need another day for water to be shut off.

“Crews have been working diligently to repair the water main leak, but I’m sorry to report that the work will not be complete in time for in-person classes to be held tomorrow,” Slattery said. “As such, the upper school campus will be closed again tomorrow for in-person instruction.”

Slattery said additional communication would be sent regarding online learning and athletics for Wednesday.

“Teachers will communicate with students this evening with instructions for tomorrow and athletics will communicate with information about after-school activities,” Slattery said.

Furthermore, Slattery said information regarding the status of in-person classes and orientation for sophomore parents would be communicated as well.

“We are hopeful that we can proceed with in-person Sophomore Parent Orientation tomorrow evening; I will send an email confirming that tomorrow,” Slattery said. “Thank you again for your flexibility and I will be in touch to confirm return to school on Thursday.”
