Cross Country team races at Pierce College

Nuzzy Sykes ’24 runs at the first Mission League Cluster meet of the 2023 Cross Country season.

The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams raced at Pierce College at the first Mission League Cluster meet of the season Sept. 21.

The varsity girls’ team gained its first victory of the season, winning by a margin of 30 points. Elle Kirman ’27 and Iona Lee ’24 finished first and second with times of 18:56.0 and 19:34.2, respectively. Laila Kim ’26 and Chloe Leclerc ’26 took first and second in the junior varsity girls’ race, and the team placed second in their division.

The boys’ varsity team scored third place overall. Franklin Wimbish ’25 was among the top finishers with a time of 15:52.9. The boys’ junior varsity team came in second place, finishing 14 points behind Loyola High School. Aidan Michaelson ’24 and Chance Krenzer ’25 finished second and third.
