The varsity football team won an away game 14-7 against Mary Star of the Sea High School on Oct. 20.
Running Back Samuel Christopher ’24 scored both of the team’s touchdowns during this game, one during the first quarter and another during the third quarter.
Outside linebacker Derek Dai ’26 broke his finger during the game, leaving him out for the remainder of the season. He said the Wolverines had a strong defense throughout the game, giving them an advantage.
“Defense really helped in winning us the game,” Dai said. “We shut down every play, we knew what was coming and we were getting to our pass drops. Defense was defending both the pass and the run really well.”
The win puts the team’s overall record at 4-5 with a league record of 1-2. Their next game will be against St. Genevieve at Los Angeles Valley College on Oct. 27.
