Girls’ basketball plays St. Anthony Saturday night at 6 p.m. in Long Beach.

The girls advanced to the quarter finals of the CIF State Playoffs Thursday with a 63-53 victory over Immanuel High School in Reedley. Harvard-Westlake relied on 16-point performances from both Lindsay Tse ’16 and Jayla Ruffus-Milner ’18.

After jumping out to a 7-0 lead to start the game, the Wolverines never relinquished the lead. With five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Harvard-Westlake led by only three points, but with both teams in the double-bonus for team fouls, the Wolverines quickly extended the lead to double digits in the closing minutes.

St. Anthony defeated Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies 68-42 in the first round.
