The spring musical “Hadestown” took place in Rugby Auditorium last night, and will continue to have shows throughout today and the weekend.
The modern, romantic adaptation of the Greek epic “Orpheus and Eurydice”, follows the intertwined storylines of two couples, Orpheus (Jaiden Matthews ‘25) and Eurydice (Calla Fox ‘25), and Hades (Jackson Hollis ‘25) and Persephone (Maya Ray ‘25), with the god Hermes (Clara Berg ‘25) acting as the narrator through the play. Orpheus attempts to save his lover Eurydice from the depths of Hadestown after she seeks Hades for help. But in order to bring her back to Earth, he must comply with one command from the ruler of the Underworld.
The up-tempo tragedy, featuring several solo acts, group choreography and action scenes, is also accompanied by a live-action orchestra.
