African-American Alumni Network hosts Night of Speed Networking

The Harvard-Westlake African-American Alumni Network hosted its first Night of Speed Networking event on Thursday, Sept. 27 where  students learned about prospective careers. Alumni from the class of ’12 to the class of ’97 were also invited to attend the event at the upper school campus.
Alumni spoke “ about their career, their career path and what struggles or accomplishments they encountered along the way,” Alumni Administrator Janiece Richard said.
These alumni presented their experiences in the industries of finance, healthcare, law, real estate, nonprofit, hospitality, entertainment and education.
High school students also learned about the HW Job Board, which allows alumni to find or offer jobs within the Harvard-Westlake network. The event was held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
