The Wolverines defeated the Moorpark Musketeers 57-46 in the squad’s second round matchup of the Calabasas Tournament, and moved to 2-0 overall.
It was a back-and-forth game, with the Wolverines eventually pulling away via a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter, which was led by Cassius Stanley ’19, who scored 14 points.
Throughout the first half, there were several lead changes, with the halftime score favoring the Wolverines 30-29.
Harvard-Westlake extended their lead to 43-39 with the help of a rim-rocking dunk by Stanley, which sent the bench and crowd into a frenzy.
The Wolverines eventually won by 11, with Stanley lading the scoring and point guard Wolfgang Novogratz ’16 adding 13.
Harvard-Westlake will face the Calabasas Coyotes in the semifinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Calabasas High School. Mission League foe Chaminade will face Viewpoint in the other semifinal game at 3 p.m. on Friday.
