Girls’ soccer defeats Hart, moves on to second round of CIF

    By Luke Holthouse

Advancing to the second round of CIF playoffs, the girls soccer team won 2-0 in its first round game against Hart. Katie Speidel ’11 scored with a penalty kick goal early in the second half, and Danielle Duhl ’12 solidified the victory later in the half with a goal off a throw in from Mackenzie Dickman ’14.

The Wolverines will face the winner of the matchup between Santa Margarita and Woodbridge.

“We were a little nervous today,” Head Coach Richard Simms said. ”I wish we could be a little more calm and play with a little more confidence, but hopefully that will build as the tournament goes on. I feel good about it.”
