Bouncing back from its first loss of the season with victories against San Marino and Crespi, the boys’ tennis team brought its overall record to 5-1 and league record to 2-0.

In the 13-5 win against San Marino, the team won six of nine singles matches and seven of nine doubles matches. Both Jackson Frons ’12 and Jeffrey Bu ’12 defeated San Marino’s #1 singles player, Jonny Wang, for the first time in the past four years, with scores of 6-3 and 6-4, respectively.

The Wolverines won with ease in its following match against Crespi, 16-2, losing only two matches even while substituting out all three of their singles players.

“We always take care of our players based on role and rotation and rest and recovery,” Head Coach Chris Simpson said. “Therefore, we rested all three singles players against Crespi to give others a chance to play singles and some junior varsity players to get experience in doubles.”
