Girls’ cross country competes in top division at Mt. San Antonio College Invitational

Cami Chapus ’12 took third individually at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational this past weekend. Chapus, along with the girls’ varsity cross country team, competed in the Division 1 and 2 Sweepstakes division, the highest division at the meet. The girls’ took 15h place. Harvard-Westlake’s participation marked the first time a Division 4 program was invited to run with Division 1 and 2 schools at the tournament.

The boys’ team also competed in the Sweepstakes division, but they competed in Division 4. The team’s best performance was by Aaron de Toledo ’12, who finished in 26th place, with a course time under 16:30. The team came in 14th place.

Both teams will compete next at the Mission League Finals at Crescenta Valley Park on Nov. 2.
