Football alum to go pro

By Robbie Loeb

Second team All-American left tackle Jonathan “Moose” Martin ’08, a likely top-10 selection out of Stanford, has decided to enter the NFL draft in late April, he told ESPN college football reporter Joe Schad.

“It’s time to take the next step,” the 6-foot-6, 304 pound redshirt junior told Schad. “I want a new challenge.”

Martin is listed at ninth overall on ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest draft Big Board. ESPN Scouts Inc. rates the 22 year-old lineman sixth-best overall and second-best among left tackles.

At Harvard-Westlake, the blindside tackle compiled a 23-12 record in three years on varsity.
