Sophomore baseball player named Mission League MVP, 3 others named all-league

By Michael Aronson

The Mission League named pitcher and third baseman Jack Flaherty ’14 its most valuable player for the 2012 season.

With the loss of right-handed ace Lucas Giolito ’12 to injury, Flaherty’s role in the Wolverines’ starting rotation increased significantly. He did not surrender a loss on the mound against Mission League opponents this year, finishing 6-0 in his second season on varsity.

Pitcher Max Fried ’12, catcher Arden Pabst ’13 and first baseman Joe Corrigan ’13 also received honorable mention as first-team all-league players.
