The Hallock family had some extra luggage coming home from the Pan American Water Polo Tournament in Montreal. Morgan Hallock ’13 brought back a gold medal after leading the Women’s Junior National Team to a 7-6 win on Saturday, Aug. 18 over Canada. Her brother Ben Hallock ’16 was a part of the Men’s Junior National Team that advanced to the championship match but fell to Brazil by a score of 10-7, settling for silver.
Morgan has won two straight CIF Championships with the girls water polo team at Harvard-Westlake. Ben has been making a splash with the junior national team before even setting foot on Harvard-Westlake’s campus. He will begin his freshman year at Harvard-Westlake this September.
“It was fun to be able to see each other throughout the tournament and support each other during the games,” Morgan said.
The respective Junior National Teams are made up of the best water polo players in the country under the age of 19.
This is the second year in a row the Hallock siblings have both competed at an international tournament together. Last summer, the two competed at the Pan American Championships in Puerto Rico.
“It was super special being able to represent our country for the second time in a row together,” Ben said.
