The National Scholastic Press Association selected The Chronicle as a finalist for the National Newspaper Pacemaker competition, known as the Pullitzer Prize of high school journalism. Winners will be announced at the NSPA convention in St. Louis Nov. 16.
The 2007-2008 volume ofÂ TheÂ Chronicle edited by Michael Kaplan ’08 and Ariane Lange ’08Â is one of 13Â newspapers selectedÂ in the 17-page or more category, and one of 46 newspapers overall. The Chonicle has won the National Pacemaker three times, most recently for the 2006-2007 volume.
In addition, The Chronicle received the NSPAÂ All-American honor based on the critique of last year’s paper, a distinction that the middle school literary magazine, The Tenth Muse, received as well.
