Cross country teams place in top ten at Mt. SAC Invitational

The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams concluded their regular seasons at the Mount San Antonio College Invitational on Oct. 26. The girls’ team finished fourth out of 21 teams in their division, while the boys’ team came in eighth out of 18 teams.

Lizzy Thomas ’14 led the way for the girls’ with a fourth place finish and a time of 18:26. Personal bests by Monica Nimmagadda ’14, Rachel Porter ’16, and Audrey Wilson ’15 propelled the girls’ to a strong finish.

The boys’ team competed in their first event at full health this season. Co-captain Ben Weissenbach ’15 joined the team after a knee injury had held him out of all previous races. Jack Stovitz ’16 and Henry Roskin ’16 both crossed the finish line first with PRs of 16:40. Ben Greene ’14, Weissenbach, and David Manahan ’14, followed them close behind with times of 17:01, 17:05, and 17:13, respectively.

Both teams will be racing in the Mission League Finals at Woodley Park, on Nov. 6.
