Girls’ tennis squad comes up short in home opener

After losing its first match of the season, the girls’ tennis team returned home and fell to Palos Verdes, losing 14-4.

As it is still early in the season, the squad is largely focusing on fine-tuning its lineup.

“This was our first at home match and we are still trying to work out the kinks,” Chloe Donovan ’19 said. “We are beginning to find doubles combinations that win and work on team strategy.”

The squad feels that they will be in a better position for success for the next match.

“We have two matches next week and I think we will be more prepared,” Donovan said. “We have had a lot of roster changes to deal with, so I think we will finally solidify a lineup that we like.”

The squads next match will be against Immaculate Heart on Sept. 18.
