The girls’ water polo team won the Claremont Tournament this Dec. 2 as the starting games of their seasons.
The Wolverines defeated Fountain Valley 18-2, Fullerton 14-3, Palos Verdes 13-8 and La Quinta 17-2.
Center Taylor Lacour ’19 said the girls were unaware how they would compare to the other teams but that they defeated some old competition.
“The best part was the third game of the tournament against the Palos Verdes team,” Lacour said. “We got crushed a couple years ago so it was nice to beat them.”
Their next game is away against Peninsula on Dec. 9. The team lost 5-8 playing Peninsula last year at home.
