Under new head coach Matt Kubeck, the girls’ water polo team began the season with a convincing 23-1 victory over Bishop Alemany High School on Monday afternoon.
In its first regular-season and league match of the season, the squad outmatched the Warriors in all four quarters of the game. The only goal allowed by the Wolverines was given up in the third quarter after the team had built a 18-0 lead.
It was a very balanced attack for the Wolverines, and every junior and senior on the team scored a goal.
Monday’s match was the team’s first league match since they defeated Notre Dame High School 20-6 in the Mission League Finals last January.
The Wolverines moved to 1-0 on the season, and will play their second league match this afternoon against Marymount High School at home.
