Girls’ soccer handily defeats Marymount, maintains perfect league record

The girls’ soccer team defeated Marymount High School tonight at the Sailors’ home field, giving itself a 2-0 league record, a 7-2-1 overall record and a two-game win streak. The team’s most recent game and first league victory was an away 3-1 victory Wednesday against Notre Dame High School.

Princeton commit and leading scorer Courtney O’Brien ’15, leading scorer Courtney Corrin ’16 and Amanda Gores ’16 contributed one goal apiece to the team’s 3-0 victory.

As has become customary for the girls this season, goalie Lindsay Avant ’17 didn’t let in a single goal. A formidable force in her position, Avant has only allowed one goal in the past six games.

The Wolverines play Chaminade Wednesday in their first home league matchup. Last year, the girls beat the Eagles 2-1 at home and tied them1-1 at Chaminade.
