Erik Krum will take over responsibilities as Head of the Lacrosse Program once the 2015 school year starts on Aug. 31.

Krum is replacing Alex Weber, who went 39-17 over the last three years, but stepped down at the end of last season.

Before joining the Wolverines, Krum was a two time All-American lacrosse player at Mira Costa High School, and he was a three time NCAA champion at Salisbury University, as well as a First Team All-American in his senior year. Krum came back to California after graduating, and in 2012, started the Santa Monica Dragons Lacrosse Club, a youth lacrosse club.

“This is a new day for Harvard-Westlake Lacrosse!” Head of Athletics Terry Barnum said in a press release. “Erik Krum is 100% committed to coaching players and promoting lacrosse. He is a motivator who is sure to get the best out of our team. His connections in the Southern California lacrosse community will benefit our school and his winning attitude is contagious. We are on the verge of something special.”
