The girls’ water polo team beat Alemany 17-8 on Feb. 1, securing the top spot in the Mission League table and ending an undefeated season in league play.
The victory moved the squad to 6-0 in league play, marking the ninth consecutive season in which the Wolverines have gone undefeated in the Mission League.
“We are very proud to be able to say we have upheld our Mission League streak for the season so far,” Princeton commit Paige Thompson ’17 said. “I am so proud of all my teammates for bringing the effort and power to our game tonight.”
The squad will hope to replicate its strong performance in league play in the upcoming 2017 Southern California Championship Tournament on Feb. 2-4. The following week, the squad will compete in the 2017 CIF Playoffs on Feb. 15-22.
“The SoCal Championship in Irvine is definitely going to be a tough weekend, we are playing some very skilled Division I teams, but ultimately I think the competition will greatly benefit our game heading into CIF playoffs,” Thompson said.
