Going into the season, the boys were ranked seventh in the CIF-SS Division I, but their strong play has thrust them all the way up the top seed. Today’s play served as a good explanation for the jump.
“Jed Kronenberg ’17 really showed why he’s a team captain by maintaining sharp composure to sweep a strong singles lineup” Jacob Tucker ’17 said.
The Pomona-Pitzer commit won his matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2.
Theo Velaise ’17 and Sacha Pritzker ’18 also delivered outstanding performances in their doubles matches, winning 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0.
“Don’t sleep on boys’ tennis,” was captain Adam Sraberg’s ’17 advice to us before the season began, and the boys have certainly given us a reason to pay attention to their games.
“Being undefeated thus far has definitely turned some heads our way,” Sraberg said. “We are working hard as a unit towards a CIF championship and we won’t settle for anything less.”
The squad will face rivals Loyola on March 21.
