Boys’ and girls’ swim teams defeat Notre Dame

The boys’ and girls’ swimming teams beat Notre Dame today, with the girls finishing 94-76 and the boys finishing 101-69.

“I thought we really swam as a team by cheering each other and supporting each other during each race,”  junior varsity and varsity swimmer Derek Blumenfield ’20 said. “Notre Dame is a solid team and it feels good to beat them.”

The boys’ team is now 3-1 in league after defeating Crespi on March 6 and Chaminade on March 8. The boys’ only loss came against Loyola on Tuesday.

The girls’ team is currently undefeated after defeating Marlborough on March 6, Chaminade on March 8 and Flintridge Sacred Heart on Tuesday.

“This is a great way to start the season,” swimmer Eve Hookstratten ’20 said. “[The girls’ team] doesn’t swim again until the break so hopefully we can improve by then”

The boys’ team is scheduled to swim against St. Francis on Thursday, and both the boys’ and girls’ teams will swim against Saugus on April 13.
