Parents to honor Hudnut with comedy, music

The Harvard-Westlake Parents’ Association 2007 Gala will honor President of School Thomas C. Hudnut’s 20 years of service to the school community at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on March 10. Parents can expect a live auction with Hudnut, stand-up comedy by Bob Newhart, dinner and a live band.

“Since this year marks Hudnut’s 20th year at Harvard-Westlake, we thought it fitting that he be the focus of the 2007 HWPA Gala,” said Claudia Resnikoff (Nicole ’10), co-chair of the event.
“I’m honored by the tribute but a little embarrassed as well since I am uncomfortable when people make a big deal out of me,” Hudnut said.

Reflecting on his years at Harvard-Westlake, Hudnut said, “I have learned about the wonders of a school where people really care about things — about the quality of learning that goes on, about the quality of the citizens we turn out, about the quality of our hearts and our responsiveness to the needs and feelings of others.”

“We are looking forward to an elegant evening where people can really have a great time, while we raise a lot of money and honor the man who truly personifies Harvard-Westlake,” Resnikoff said.
