Eleven students participated in a charitable event for underprivileged children at the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center April 18.
From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., they decorated Easter eggs with about forty kids from the shelter Para Los Niños. Para Los Niños is dedicated to providing a safe haven for children in tough neighborhoods or family situations.
The event marked the first time a school-sponsored community service event was held in conjunction with Para Los Niños. It was run through the Leadership branch of the organization United in Harmony. Leadership organizes one event per month, according to Cindy Ok â10, who is on the Leadership board.
