Boys’ soccer loses despite strong comeback

There was no shortage of goals Wednesday night in West Hills, but the boys’ soccer team walked off the pitch at Chaminade empty-handed. A furious comeback from the Wolverines came up just short, losing 6-5 after trailing 5-0.

The visiting Wolverines scored the final 3 goals of the match, but it was not enough to prevent their second consecutive loss in the Mission League. The first cycle of Mission League play is over the Wolverines, having now played all six Mission League opponents. Through six games, the Wolverines have four points thanks to a victory over St. Francis and a draw with Notre Dame. The other four matches saw the Wolverines come up just short, as they lost 2-1 to Alemany, 2-1 to Crespi, 4-3 to Loyola, and now 6-5 to Chaminade.

The Wolverines currently sit at 6th in league Standings, trailing league leaders Loyola by 11 points, according to maxpreps.com.

The Wolverines’ next game is at home Jan. 21 against Crespi.
