The field hockey team shut out Marina High School 5-0 in an away game.
So far, the team has not lost a single game in the season, accumulating a 3-0 record so far.
“I think our team has such a solid record right now because we are very focused and taking it one game at a time,” captain Mia Reilly ’18 said.
The team scored early and controlled the game. Reilly cites the victory against Marina as partially due to the departure of key seniors at Marina.
While the Wolverines have seen lots of early success, Reilly said the team’s focus is on the more difficult teams that the Wolverines will play later this season.
“We need to keep our level of play as high as it was when we played the more skilled teams last week and that will be key as we go through the season,” Reilly said. “Our main goal right now is to keep training as hard as possible so that we are ready to play our rivals Bonita and Chaminade.”
The squad plays Fountain Valley High School on Tuesday.
