The Varsity Wrestling team beat Crespi 42-24 in a dual for Senior Night on Jan. 24.
Team captain Calvin Kaleel ’18, Kevin Chen ’19 and John Cahill ’20 won by a pin. Justin Butler ’19 and Daniel Guerrero ’20 won by decision. Riley Ruiz ’20, Paul Boardman ’21 and Kanoa Young ’21 won by a forfeit. Kaleel said he was happy with the team’s performance.
“I thought that our team wrestled really well tonight, and that it was a culmination of hard work in practice,” Kaleel said. “I was really proud that this dual was my last one at Harvard-Westlake, and my team showed up and performed well. I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this team, and I couldn’t have asked for a better Senior Night.”
The team has an overall record of 1-2 and a league record of 0-2 and will move onto Mission League Finals at Alemany High School on Jan. 27.
