Girls’ water polo finishes as runner-up at Mistletoe Classic

After an overtime goal from Hannah Eliot ’16 sent the Wolverines through the semifinal match, the girls’ water polo team fell to Crescenta Valley 7-3 in the finals of the Mistletoe Classic tournament.

Eliot’s goal in sudden death overtime clinched a 7-6 victory over Newbury Park before the loss to Crescenta Valley.

“She’s been playing club for a couple years and she’s good,” Princeton commit Morgan Hallock ’13 said. “She’s a lefty, and it brings something different to our team. She’s getting used to the high school level and her role.”

The Wolverines finished as runner-ups in the tournament at 4-1. The girls defeated Atascadero, Pacifica and Cabrillo before facing Newbury Park in the semifinals. The tournament was the first official competition of the team’s season.

The Wolverines moved up to Division III this year after winning the past two Division IV CIF championships.
