The girls’ volleyball team ended their losing streak and now has a league record of 1-3 after their 3-1 win against Marlborough.

Fiona Ryan ’25 said her team has faced challenges with their playing style this season.

“I think one of the main reasons that we were in the rough patch was because when we face teams we always tend to play down to their level,” Ryan said. “We always match the other team’s ability when we should be focusing on our own side.”

In addition, Ryan said her coach has been helpful throughout the season thus far in supporting the players to improve their skills. Girls Volleyball Program Head Mitch Kallick said he has been preparing the girls for their tournament in Las Vegas from Sept. 22-23.

“Our coach has kept calm and encouraged us to have a positive mindset,” Ryan said. “[Kallick] has been able to emphasize that practice is the best time to get better, and it was worth it. We really cleaned up our serve-receives and were able to fix our mistakes.”
