Running back Samuel Christopher ’24 looks to break the defense down in a game against Venice High School Aug. 29.

The varsity football team will face St. Genevieve in a league game on Oct. 27 at Los Angeles Valley College at 7:00 p.m. The game will be the squad’s last regular game of the season and will determine whether or not the team will advance to playoffs. The Wolverines’ overall record currently stands at 4-5 after a win against Mary Star of the Sea on Oct. 20. Their current league record is 1-2, which has potential to improve after this upcoming game.

Quarterback Aidan Greenfield ’24 said the team has been working especially hard to secure a win this weekend.

“We are very hopeful for [a good] outcome this week,” Greenfield said. “We know that our [aspirations for] playoffs ride on us winning this game, so practice has been very intense. It is essentially a playoff game this weekend, and we’ll be ready to take on the challenge.”

Greenfield said that the team’s morale is very high right now.

“[The team] is feeling great because we finally are healthy,” said Greenfield. “Having all our guys back at the right time is allowing us to play our best football when the games matter the most.”
