Emily Ahn ’25 was named Girls Athlete of the Week in the Los Angeles Daily News after winning the 5k race at the second cross country Mission League cluster meet Oct. 11.
Ahn said running cross country has been a learning experience, as the sport teaches perseverance and determination.
“The exhaustion that comes with [cross country] can be overwhelming at times, [but it’s] what makes the sport so rewarding. It’s a test of one’s endurance, both physically and mentally,” Ahn said. “Cross country has taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and the satisfaction of achieving your goals, even if it means pushing through moments of exhaustion.”
Ahn said she is determined to continuously strive to better herself and improve as a runner.
“Looking ahead as an athlete, I’m all about pushing myself further. I want to work harder, get faster, and be more consistent in my training,” Ahn said.
