Late sign-ups turned away from Senior Retreat

Due to overcapacity, seniors who did not fulfill the necessary sign up requirements on time will not be able to attend Senior Retreat.  The forms, which were to be submitted electronically, were due May 20.

Seniors who had not submitted the application with both their own signature and a parent signature were informed by Father James Young four days later that they would be unable to attend.

“Sorry to be so seemingly inflexible in this emails but we are over-capacity in our sign-ups and would be hard-pressed to make room for more students on this trip,” he said.

Those students that were still interested in attending were placed on a waitlist. Senior retreat will be held from June 4-6 at Cedar Lake Campground in Big Bear.  Students will participate in a variety of activities such as canoeing, swimming and hiking during the day and talent shows, dances and campfires at night.

“This is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and to relax and reflect on our time at Harvard-Westlake,” Prefect Council said in an email to seniors.
