School announces new swim coach, Flacks to head aquatics program

The Athletics Department has named Jason Schwarz as the new head coach of the swimming program and Brian Flacks ’06 as the new head of aquatics. Schwarz and Flacks will be replacing current Swimming Program Head and Head of Aquatics Jonathan Carroll, as Carroll has stepped down from his roles in athletics to become a seventh grade dean next year.

Flacks has been the head of the boys’ and girls’ water polo programs for the past four years and also played water polo while attending Harvard-Westlake.

Schwarz will be taking the swimming program helm from Carroll, who was a Wolverine assistant coach until now-Athletic Director Darlene Bible stepped down from the head coach position three years ago. Schwarz is currently the executive director and head coach of the Los Angeles Swim Club and is also affiliated with USA Swimming.

Before assuming leadership of LASC in 2008, Schwarz was also co-head coach of Westside Aquatics and before that the head coach of Crescenta-Cañada YMCA. He was also the head coach of Los Angeles Trade Tech College from 2006 to 2008.
