    By Jack Davis

The boys’ basketball team advanced to CIF quarterfinals after defeating South Hills on the road, 80-51 Friday night. Forward Erik Swoope ’10 led the team with 30 points and 21 rebounds despite sitting out most of the fourth quarter. Forward Damiene Cain ’11 chipped in with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks while guard Austin Kelly ’10 had nine assists.

The victory increased the boys’ win streak to 22 games. The squad’s next game will be played Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the road against Calabasas. If the boys win that game they will advance to CIF semifinals and ensure themselves a spot in the State tournament.
