Boys’ soccer playoff hopes in limbo after loss to Crespi

    By David Gobel

Although the boys’ soccer team kept the game extremely close until the last fifteen minutes, it would ultimately lose to Crespi 2-0.

The first half of the game was deadlocked, with neither team able to score a goal. Goalie Wade Clement ’12 made some spectacular saves in the second-half to try to prevent Crespi from scoring a goal, but in the last 15 minutes of the game Crespi was able to score two goals.

The loss brings the Wolverines overall record to 7-11-5, and the Wolverines have not won a match in over two weeks.

The loss to Crespi sets up a crucial match against in Alemany Wednesday in the last game of the regular season. A win against Alemany would guarantee the Wolverines a spot in CIF playoffs, a loss would take them out of the playoffs, and if they tied their position in the playoffs would be dependent on Crespi’s performance in its last game.
