Girls’ basketball falls to El Camino by 20

By Camille Shooshani

The girls’ varsity basketball team flubbed its third consecutive game today against El Camino Real 46-66, dropping their record to 2-5.

“It’s tough, but we’re growing right now,” captain and guard Natalie Florescu ’13 said.

Florescu put up 20 of the Wolverines 46 points.

The girls struggled to keep up the first five minutes of the game, and once El Camino gained momentum, the Wolverines could not answer their steady perimeter shots. By halftime, they were down by 15.

In the fourth quarter, after cutting El Camino’s lead to seven, co-captain Leslie Schuman ’12 fouled out, and the Wolverines couldn’t climb back in the game and lost by 20 points.

“We’re not really connecting person to person,” Alixx Lucas ’13 said. “We’re not talking as much as we should have.”
