Boys’ Water Polo falls to Dana Hills 9-6 at home.

By Jack Goldfisher

The eighth-ranked boys’ water polo team fell to the seventh-ranked team in the CIF Div. I Southern Section, the Dana Hills Dolphins 9-6 at home Friday night.

The Dolphins started the game by scoring three straight goals, and shutting out the Wolverines in the first quarter. Ben Hallock ’16 and Johnny Hooper ’15 each scored a goal in the second quarter to head into the locker room down 5-2.

The Wolverines cut the deficit to one in the third quarter, but Dana Hills thwarted the Wolverines’ comeback with two goals in the third and two in the fourth to win 9-6.

Morio Saito ’15 was held out of the contest by coach’s decision, but could be back for the team’s matchups with Los Osos and Mater Dei.

The Wolverines won their first match of the season 16 – 4 against Ventura, and are now 1-1 in league play. They host Los Osos this Tuesday at the Copses Family Aquatics Center.
