Boys’ basketball advances to second round of CIF State Division 2 Playoffs

Harvard-Westlake defeated Mater Dei Catholic in Chula Vista Wednesday night, 59-51.
The Crusaders lead the Wolverines 15-8 by the end of the first quarter, but by the half the players had narrowed the gap to 25-21. However, they continued to trail until the fourth quarter.
The Wolverines will continue on to play top seeded Alemany Saturday night at 7:30 at Alemany. The team went 0-2 against the Warriors, ranked sixth in the state, during regular season play. The Wolverines are currently ranked thirtieth.
