Field hockey squad continues undefeated season

The field hockey team beat Huntington Beach today 1-0, to continue its undefeated season. The team is 6-0 and yet to be scored upon.

While the team has won every game, this game tied for its narrowest win (the team also beat Newport High School 1-0). The team tied Huntington Beach in the 2016 season.

“I hope our winning streak stays,” captain Mia Reilly ’18 said. “I think when our team plays clean and organized that we are able to score on anybody.”

The game’s single goal was scored by left forward Nicole Bahar ’18 off of an assist from Reilly.

Despite its success on the field, the team looks to improve in future games. Team captain Alyse Tran ’18 highlighted communication as a weakness of the team.

“Our communication was not good at all in the first half, but after we got hyped we were able to pull everything together and play more as a unit in the second half,” Tran said.

The team plays Thousand Oaks on Tuesday.

“Thousand Oaks is a very new team to the league so we are interested to see how they play,” Reilly said.

Nicole Bahar scores the sole ? to beat Huntington Beach 1-0 on the road. ? are now 6-0 on the season. Go Wolverines! ??
