The girls’ tennis team lost to Mira Costa High School today with a score of 5-13 in their first match of the season.

Doubles player Kylie Azizzadeh ’21 said that she believes the team needs to improve on its consistency throughout the whole match.

“The game definitely could’ve gone better, however, it was our first match of the season, so everyone was getting adjusted to new teammates and lineups,” Azizzadeh said. “Our team definitely could’ve improved on staying strong throughout the entire match because in the beginning it was very close, but as time went on our performances dropped.”

Despite the loss, Azizzadeh said that she was proud of the team’s ability to build chemistry.

“As a whole, our team spirit and drive was very strong, especially against these girls who are a lot better than us,” Azizzadeh said. “We are starting to work better and get closer as a team.”

The Wolverines will play against West Ranch High School on Sept. 17.
